Sixty-five teenagers had a half term break with a difference when they travelled to Germany with the Air Cadets. The cadets and staff from five Squadrons across Surrey Wing enjoyed a week long camp at Lavesum Barracks near Haltern am See in North West Germany.

The wing falling plate competition was held on the 2nd March 2008, this followed the practice held in Feburary. The competition consists of a run down from 300m to 200m with a team of 4 cadets (3 who must be from the same sqn) and engage the targets (The plates in the photo) with up to ten round each with a time limit of 90 seconds.

In February LASER ran its first ever Aerospace Leaders Camp. The camp was for 24 selected senior cadets who were interested in Aerospace Careers, both civilian and military. The camp was organised by the LASER Aerospace Officer, Wg Cdr Chris Morrell, and operated from RAF Halton.

Over seventy cadets and staff from 323, 328 and 1349 Squadrons, attended an adventure training camp at Napier Army Barracks in Folkestone over the October half term week. The camp was a great success, due to the varied and exhilarating training programme.

1075 (Camberley) Squadron held its formal annual inspection at the Royal Engineers’ Gibraltar Barracks in July.

Over the bank holiday weekend of 28th - 30th April cadets from five Squadrons spent a competitive weekend training for the Surrey Wing Bray trophy competition at Pirbright camp.
