1075 (Camberley) Squadron is Surrey Wing's Lees Trophy representative

On Friday, Wing Commander Gould visited 1075 Sqn after it was selected as best sqn again in the West Area of the wing.

Among the assessment criteria was the academic and extra curricular qualifications achieved by the cadets in the last 12 months as well as the amount of pubic service undertaken and the participation in Wing Sports and AT camps. The wing commander was introduced to the 7 staff present and saw the cadets involved with academic lessons, a radio comms exercise, a briefing for a sqn nav ex to be held that weekend, weapon handling training, and some introductory drill training for 10 new recruits that joined at an intake at the beginning of the month.

"We are very proud to be selected as the Wings representative this year" said Flt Lt Partridge, the squadron commander. "We have a lot of finer details to address over the next few weeks in preparation for a visit by the Regional Commandant but we have enthusiastic cadets, staff and committee.".

Studying certificates on the wall of the sqn, 1075 sqn was last entered into the Lees competition back in 1986 over 20 years ago when the current CO was a Cdt Sgt at the sqn.
